MUMS EMPOWERMENT MOVEMENT IS A COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY RUN BY HER BUSINESS REVOLUTION TO CONNECT, SUPPORT & EMPOWER UK MUMS, WHILE HELPING THEM BACK INTO WORK OR TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESSES…
Our main mission is to empower and support mums back into work or to start their own businesses, plus provide a platform where mums can connect and share their experiences without judgement, while signposting mothers to other organisations to help with their specific problems related to family and motherhood.
Negative mental health and isolation are common amongst mums in the UK, therefore providing both an online and offline platform for mums to come together and gain the support they need also helps to minimise these experiences.
We host training and empowerment events to bring hundreds of mums together to be exposed, network with, and learn about what support organisations are available to mothers across the country. We also offer entertainment for the kids and pampering for the mums at our events too!
HER Place is a lounge for women (especially mums) to meet, work, relax and play with their kids, in a calm, supporting and wholesome environment – that will provide comfortable seating, tables for meeting and networking, eating and drinking, hot desks with WiFi available, toys/books/play area for children to play and interact, pop up shop area, and ample car parking.
It will provide a space for:
Women/mums to work, meet and relax.
Mum’s to play with children.
Bringing nearby communities together (especially the elderly and young families).
Training, events and workshops (especially aimed at supporting mental health/wellbeing and business/employability).
HER Place will provide a permanent home for many of our yearly activities, plus will allow us to deliver more of our “Meet Ups” because we will no longer be restricted by high venue costs and time constraints. We also plan to be able to offer more educational events at HER Place to offer more in-depth training and guidance to help local Norfolk mums back into work or to start up their own businesses. These in-person sessions can be recorded and shared online with our wider community of UK mums too.
Based on securing ample funding for the project we plan to open HER Place in Autumn 2021, which we feel will be especially needed to tackle isolation and mental health issues, and support with work progression post Covid-19.
Mums Empowerment Movement’s Guide to Motherhood Book
Mums Empowerment Movement’s Guide to Motherhood (Volume One) contains 4 inspirational, truthful and insightful stories of different aspects of motherhood, plus an nontraditional Foreword from MEM’s Founder’s 7 year old daughter Ella!
Written by various mums in the United Kingdom, each story shares a different experience of motherhood and birth, and offers an insightful tip to guide other mothers and expectant mums, and offer them advice and support, when facing similar situations.
This book has the ultimate aim to reach out to mothers and share stories that other mums/future mums can resonate with, and find comfort and hope when reading.
